Lab-style causal identification at field-style scale: information-provision experiments let us measure how beliefs shape behaviour in representative samples. Roth and Wohlfahrt (2020) is our case study — and a chance to discuss the pitfalls (anchoring, experimenter demand, attention effects) that separate a credible survey experiment from a glorified correlation.
